About me
Hey there! Thank you for coming to my website and being curious enough to read my “about me” page. Or maybe you clicked this page on accident. Either way… I’m so glad to have you here!
Just so you know this was my least favourite part about making my website. Like why is it so hard to talk about ourselves? I can’t think of what I like and what I do. I like and do stuff, okay?
Anyways, let’s move on and get to the reason you’re here.
To get to know me a little better. *internally cringing at myself.*
I’m Monique Suter, and I wrote a book. I know, I know. I can’t believe it either.
I’ve been obsessed with story-telling for as long as I can remember and have been casually writing for years. I finally decided to take what I love seriously and share my work with the world. *wiping my sweaty palms.*
I live in a small town off the coast in Central Queensland, Australia. When I’m not writing, you can find me with my husband and two beautiful young daughters. Girl mum represent!
I’m a hairdresser—yes… just like my fmc. I own a small home salon that I work in casually, around being a stay at home mum.
I love to draw and design, I actually drew all my character art and created my book cover for Cut up. I’ve very recently started taking commissions too.
I’m a not so secret nerd. So I’m normally writing, reading, drawing, gaming or binge-watching my favourite comfort shows whenever I get the chance. I also love to work out, but I refuse to diet…
I joined booktok and bookstagram last year, where I have built a community of readers who love, love just as much as I do. This was actually a massive inspiration for me, one that finally pushed me to share my words with the rest of the world. You can connect online with me, if you want to chat or stay up to date about my future works. @moniquesuterauthor
Now, let’s quickly talk about my debut novel, Cut up. It is a book that I have poured my heart and soul into. It was a deeply healing book for me to write. I wanted to write a book that showed women that you can leave something toxic, move on and that your happily ever after is out there. Once I started writing this book, a whole series flashed before my eyes. The more I wrote about the characters in book one, the more I fell in love with them. So, now I have plans for six books in this interconnected series; which is called The Love up series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, with its own happily ever after.
While I love a happily ever after romance novel, and I’m so excited to share this series with you—I have been a very busy bee over the last few years, and have been writing a lot. Those who know me, know that I am a massive fantasy, romance lover. So of course, I have been writing a romantasy series on the side. One that I plan to let simmer, until it’s cooked to perfection. But hopefully one day it makes it to the light of day and I can share it with you all as well. Cut up, is only the start of my author journey.
Just checking in. Are you still here?
If you are, thank you so much for reading all of this. Turns out, it was easier to write about myself than I originally thought. I actually had to stop myself from oversharing more. So, if you want to get to know me better, make sure you head to my socials.
I also want to add a big thank you to anyone who came to my website and bought my book. It means the absolute world to me and you’re helping make my author dreams come true. If you share any positive posts on social media, please tag me so I can share them too. If you loved Cut up, I would be forever grateful if you could review it on Amazon and Goodreads. As an indie author, reviews are so important to get my book out there to more readers and get the visibility it needs in a saturated market.
Lots of love, Mon xo
